Québec Acerum (PGI) Set to Shine on the International Stage at Wine Paris 2026

Paris, France — February 9, 2026 —

Québec Acerum (PGI) will be showcased on the international stage at Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2026, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for wines and spirits, taking place from February 10 to 12, 2026, in Paris.

Coordinated by the Union des distillateurs de spiritueux d’érable (UDSÉ), this initiative will take the form of a collective presence bringing together four Québec distilleries producing Québec Acerum, within a booth proudly bearing the PGI identity. Trade visitors will have the opportunity to discover this uniquely designated spirit, crafted through the fermentation and distillation of maple sap–derived products.

“Even ahead of the show, the level of interest from local media is already very real. The fact that this spirit is made directly from maple sap, combined with the unique character of Québec Acerum, immediately resonates and sparks a great deal of curiosity.”
David Soucy, Co-owner, Distillerie Mitis

As the first spirit appellation officially recognized in Canada and rooted in the organoleptic qualities of maple, Québec Acerum (PGI) is governed by a rigorous set of specifications covering the origin of raw materials, production methods, and aging practices. Its presence at Wine Paris is part of a structured effort to position Québec Acerum as a distinctive spirit that embodies Québec’s maple-growing expertise and creative spirit.

“The European market—and France in particular—is a natural fit for Acerum. It is a market that understands the value of origin, craftsmanship, and the collective effort behind an appellation. Presenting Québec Acerum (PGI) at Wine Paris means engaging with partners who already speak this language.”
Hugo Bourassa, Co-owner, Distillerie Shefford, and President of the UDSÉ

This participation will foster numerous meetings with buyers, importers, distributors, sommeliers, and specialized media, further strengthening the international recognition of Québec Acerum within the major categories of appellation-based spirits.

This project was funded by the Québec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) through the Program to Support the Development of Reserved Appellations and Value-Enhancing Terms (PADARTV).
